Petite escapade en Alsace..., suite


La Cigogne blanche est l'oiseau emblématique de l'Alsace. Dans cette région subsiste une légende tenace selon laquelle, l'oiseau, symbole de la naissance et du renouveau, apporte les nouveaux nés à leurs futurs parents. L'oiseau déposerait alors l'enfant dans un berceau de sucre déposé à cet effet sur le rebord de la fenêtre...

    1. I remember a nest installed on the roof of the church of the village of Niederschaeffolsheim which was to be moved. A crane that could lift up to 500 kg was commissioned for operation. The nest was old should weigh well over 500 kg since the crane was unable to lift !!!

  6. We have that same story here...the storks bring the babies...or sometimes they are found in the cabbage patch...
